$$Sansibar Arche Noah, Auf der Sandbank, 25823 Sankt Peter-Ording (Bad)
http://www.sansibar-arche-noah.de/ Entrée: EUR 15-25. Contrary to the branch on Sylt, this Sansibar is down to earth with a fantastic chef serving an outstanding mixed fish pan! The restaurant is located at the end of the sea bridge in a renovated stilt house formerly known as Arche Noah. It has a large patio circling the restaurant with a self-service bar and several ‘Strandkoerbe’ (roofed wicker beach chairs) at the beach where you can spend the day, afternoon and in particular the sunset. Don’t miss their own-label grappa after dinner. |

The St. Peter branch is located at the entrance of the sea bridge and has an outside patio with high tables and typical Northern German wicker beach chairs from where you can watch the sunset. Inside you have the choice between private tables or mixed seating areas. This is a self-service restaurant and the best choice is definitely their fresh made fish rolls! |
Die Seekiste, Zum Bohler Strand 1, 25826 Sankt Peter-Ording (Böhl)
http://www.dieseekiste.de/ Entrée: EUR 10-20. Besides delicious fish food and Northern German fare you can come here for outstanding pies in the afternoon or a lunch break. Next to the restaurant you can sit on the stilt house’s self-service patio where you can sunbath and/or enjoy the view over the ocean. Try the North Sea shrimps, one of the fish dishes or the lamb! |
Schankwirtschaft Wilhelm Andresen, Katensiel 3, 25832 Tönning
http://www.schankwirt.de/ This one is a hidden gem known for its outstanding alcoholic eggnog. The lovely thatched house is located 10 miles (16 km) outside St. Peter-Ording and only known by locals or returning North Sea guests. Use your GPS to find the location. Usually the owner mingles with the guests and tells them stories about his former seafarer life. Besides the eggnog (choose a designated driver!), the homemade pies and the German bread with North Sea Shrimps are delicious! |
